Memorandum of Understanding Between TCDSB and Camoes I.P., Portugal

under the supervision of the Embassy of Portugal in Ottawa)
On March 9, 2012 the TCDSB signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Camoes i.p. Portugal, in order to ensure the promotion, diffusion and coordination of Portuguese teaching and resources at the pre-school, basic, secondary and higher levels, as well as, lifelong teacher training to improve the quality of Portuguese instruction for btdcsboth native and second language learners.
This memorandum supports: effective Portuguese instruction, consistent with the standards of the European Foreign Languages Framework; increased awareness of the availability of a Portuguese curriculum; provision of an accreditation system for Portuguese language certification; and, the provision for various student exchange programs and opportunities for TCDSB students to study in Portugal.
